On my head, Son!

Hi everyone,

Thank you for popping over and taking a look.

Well today, I'm following on the card and gift theme with sweets yet again. This time though, they are chocolate and I can't eat chocolate as it gives me migraine, so they are perfectly safe where they are!!

I had this idea before Christmas but couldn't find any chocolate footballs in the supermarkets and shops that I looked in. I bought some Maoam Pinballs instead but the colours didn't match the card. Also, I ate them before I had chance to make the card! Lol!! So yesterday I went out to find some chocolate footballs and was expecting a long trek round the shops, but I found some in the first shop I visited!! I was so stunned, it totally threw me, I couldn't remember what other shopping I needed to do!

Anyway, enough about me and more about the card.

I took an A4 piece of white card, printed on both sides. I used a backing paper from the Moreheads CD Rom from Crafters Companion. I folded the card longways. In order to make a double easel, I cut one half of the card about two thirds of the way along so that the topper fit comfortably but still leaving enough room for the dome. The topper was also from the Moreheads CD Rom. This was matted and layered onto some blue cardstock from my stash. I printed out a starry backing paper also from the CD  and matted and layered this onto the blue cardstock. The matted and layered topper was then fixed to the backing paper using 3D foam pads.

The second easel was made using a dome from Katy Sue Design and placed inside the template provided with the dome. I used the template as it was a similar colour to that on the topper. I filled the dome with the chocolate footballs and attached the dome and template to some blue cardstock to match that on the other easel. I used the starry backing paper which was again matted and layered onto blue cardstock to match the first easel. The dome and card was fixed to the backing paper using 3D foam pads.

To make the base of the card more sturdy, I attached this to the matching blue cardstock. I used some cake decorations as the toppers - a football on one side and some football boots on the other. I matted and layered the sentiment onto backing paper and card once I had foiled it with my hot foiling machine. I attached some card candy to the two front corners of the base.
